Daniel Haston fought in the NC Continental Army and afterwards moved to East TN, where in lived in Knox County in the 1790s and until about 1807. He then settled in White County, TN where he died in 1826. He may have been from Virginia originally. His known children were David, Joseph, Catherine Austin, Isaac, and Jesse. His wife's name is unknown.
